21.04.2018

A charitable race in honor of the Day of Cosmonautics and the anniversary of the transportation of the legendary Tu-144 to the university campus was held in KAI.

On Saturday, April 21, a charitable race started on the occasion of two significant dates - Cosmonautics Day (April 12), as well as the anniversary of transportation of the Tu-144 to a new location - on the campus University in Chetaeva Street.

In this sunny spring day about 250 participants came to the start. The organizers were athletes and participants of the races in Russia and Europe. The length of the race - 1968 meters - was not chosen by chance: it was in 1968 that the first flight of the Soviet supersonic passenger airliner Tu-144 took place. The itinerary passed by the plane, the eighth building of KNITU-KAI,  and sports facilities of the university ( a universal sports hall, pool and stadium) too.

During the event, any participant could contribute their money, which might go to the opening of a unique interactive museum of technology based on the supersonic passenger aircraft Tu-144 installed on the campus of KNITU-KAI. In addition, each participant of the race received a special commemorative medal.
