Double Degree Programs: Problems And Methods Of Solutions

The expert group meeting took place at KNRTU-KAI.

On February 4, at the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies  KNRTU-KAI, the members of the expert group met together at  the second meeting to develop the recommendations for the creation of joint Russian-German educational programs for graduate and postgraduate studies.

The meeting was attended by the leaders of the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" n. a. V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin), RUDN, the Financial University and KNRTU-KAI. The event is supported by the Association of Leading Universities.

Albert Gilmutdinov, the Rector of KNRTU-KAI, opened the meeting and having greeted the guests at the university: “We have a rich program ahead. I hope after that we will come out with a new understanding of the given topic. ”

Anastasia Minina, Vice-Rector for International Activities of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI": “Thanks to the host. I’m in Kazan for the third time – and never cease to amaze this beautiful city. ” Addressing the colleagues, she noted the importance of the topic raised, and expressed confidence that during the discussion the colleagues from universities would be able to work out a common solution.

 

 

Then Alexei Lopatin, Vice Rector for educational activities at KNRTU-KAI took the floor. He presented the experience of the university in the implementation of double degree programs on the example of the German-Russian Institute of New Technologies. Alexey Alexandrovich stressed the lack of Russian experience in state accreditation of international programs. During the discussion, the members of the expert group shared their methods of solving this issue.

Andrei Kinyakin, Program Coordinator with universities of Germany, spoke about practical experience in developing the Russian-German program. He described all the implementation steps of such programs and the difficulties in their implementation.

 

 

During the day, representatives of universities touched upon the current state of German-Russian cooperation, shared experiences of working with German partners, using online technologies, and discussed recommendations for creating joint educational programs for graduate and postgraduate studies.
