Сlosing ceremony of the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships 2018/2020
The announcement of the winners of the competition took place during the closing ceremony of the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships 2018/2020. The event was held on September 15 simultaneously at National University of Science and Technology MISIS (Moscow) and Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (Berlin).
Dr. Andreas Görgen, the Head of Directorate-General for Culture and Communication at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Sergei Nechaev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Germany, addressed the participants directly from the office in Berlin. On the other line, from the office in Moscow the participants of the competition were congratulated by Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation, Ambassador-at-large, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation for the period from 2000 to 2004, and Mrs. Beate Gzheski, the Permanent Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Russia.
The Russian-German Cross-Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships was a great success, confirmed Mr. Sergei Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. According to the Russian Minister, the Cross-Year significantly improved relations in scientific and cultural fields between the two countries, which have existed for many years. The program provided an opportunity to prepare a plan for the further development of cooperation between Russia and Germany in the field of science and culture.
The winning projects of the competition the Russia and Germany: Scientific and Educational Bridges clearly demonstrated the close and fruitful cooperation of Russian-German teams, as well as an intensive dialogue between the scientific and educational communities of Russia and Germany.
The Certificate of Merit on the occasion of the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships 2018/2020 was presented to German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies (GRIAT) and Ilmenau University of Technology, the German project coordinator. From side of KNRTU-KAI the Russian and German directors also took part in the ceremony.
